Recipe Exchange

Many of the Monroe Newcomers & Neighbors get-together events take place in a member’s home. At each get-together, members are asked to bring an appetizer or dessert (or beverage) to share with the group.

Many of our members have talents that extend into the kitchen and they bless us all by making some of the most delicious recipes. What a treat!

Here are some of the recipes that others have made and brought to our special events & evenings. Some are creations of their own and other recipes are from various sources on the web. Enjoy!

  • Wendy is so fond of this recipe that her and others simply refer to it as the ultimate "Smoked Maca-Rooney & Cheese" recipe. It is so gooey and warm and full of homemade deliciousness. It’s a great dish for a cold winter day (or for that matter… anytime!). The recipe comes originally from the folks at Williams-Sonoma.

  • This easy to make dip takes hummus to a new level. It is absolutely divine and really quick and easy to make. It can be served with fresh Indian Naan (flat bread) which you can make or get as a take-out order at your local Indian restaurant. It is also very good with pita chips.
