The Events
After Archibald and Rachael Staunton passed away in the early 1900s their child Frances gifted their land to the state, with the hope that it would certainly become a park. In the wintertime you can experience the Enlightened path, which is set to be bigger and brighter than ever before this year.
The Facilities
Staunton Ranch State Park is Colorado’s latest State Park and opened up in 2013 offering 18 miles of hiking routes and a variety of various other entertainment activities. The park sits southern of Black Mountain in an area of yearn forests, aspen groves, open meadows and granite cliffs. The site was once a 1,720-acre cattle ranch possessed by Drs. Archibald and Rachel Staunton that homesteaded the land start in the turn of the 20th century. The family members operated a cattle ranch and a turn-of-the-century saw mill on the property and organized summer camps for kids.
